Frequently Asked Questions

Abilene Clay Sports is a members-only gun club. However, we do offer daily memberships for $20 that you can use to try out our range and learn more about our club. We also host charity shoots and NSCA shoots that are open to public.

Eye and ear protection are must for shooting at Abilene Clay Sports. Shooting glasses and ear plugs are available for purchase in our Clubhouse. As far as clothing goes, anything that allows free movement and is comfortable for the temperature is suggested. We also suggest closed-toe shoes for shooting.

Yes! While we have approved shells for purchase in the Clubhouse, you may bring your own shells. All shot sizes must be between 7.5 and 9. The NSCA limits 12 gauge loads to 1 1/8 oz, 20 gauge to 7/8 oz, 28 gauge to 3/4 oz, and .410 loads to 1/5 oz.

The cost to shoot depends on the clay cost of your membership level and game type. For sporting clays, you will generally shoot about 100 clays, while other games will generally run about 25 clays. For non-members, you will need to purchase a Daily Membership for $20 and each clay will cost $0.54.

If you are shooting with us for the first time, you will need to purchase a Daily Membership unless you are entered into a public event. You should be familiar with the basics of gun safety and the rules of each shooting game. If you aren’t familiar, then feel free to ask any of our helpful staff members and they’ll be able to show you the ropes.
