OUR RANGES
While Abilene Clay Sports has been around since the 50's, we've recently invested a lot of time, energy, and capital into improving our range. We've worked tirelessly to create a shooting oasis in West Texas with sporting clays, five stand, trap, skeet, and FITASC for shooters to enjoy.
Just minutes from Downtown Abilene, you'll enjoy scenic views of everything the West Texas prairie has to offer. While shooting and enjoying the great outdoors, you'll get an amazing look at Abilene. Especially if you're visiting from out of town, there's no better way to experience Abilene and West Texas than with a day at Abilene Clay Sports!
Prairie Course
Abilene Clay Sports features two 12-station sporting clays courses. The first is our Prairie Course, brought to you by Atlas Traps! Featuring twelve stations each utilizing Atlas Traps clay throwers, this course looks out across the beautiful West Texas prairie with vistas of downtown Abilene. This course is easily walkable and you can move clockwise around the course to end up back at the Clubhouse!
Mesquite Course
Abilene Clay Sports features two 12-station sporting clays courses. The second is our [OTHER] Course. This course weaves in and out through the trees and prickly pears for shaded round of sporting clays. Featuring tall shooting platforms, elevated shooting towers, and hidden towers, this twelve station course will give you a challenging and fun afternoon of shooting!
Valley Course
The first of our two Five Stand courses is out towards the front of our club overlooking a valley. While you shift stands, you'll get plenty of interesting combinations of birds and beautiful views overlooking the rest of the club grounds.
Skeet
Abilene Clay Sports features two skeet fields. Shooting from around the arc is one of our favorite pasttimes here at Abilene Clay Sports, and we think you'll love shooting our Skeet fields!
Trap
We've got three different trap fields to choose from. Our first two trap fields are voice-activated, so you'll be able to shoot by yourself or with friends.
Wobble Trap
We've got three different trap fields to choose from. Our Wobble Trap field offers a little extra challenge as the clay thrown can be from any angle away from the trap, so you'll need a sharp eye, quick reaction, and good aim for this one!
FITASC
Out by the Valley Five Stand, we have our FITASC, a favorite of our Thursday Night Fight Club. Shooters will take their turns moving between each "peg" on the "parcour" while overlooking the rest of the shooting club.
